IIT Madras (IITM) is a public-funded
engineering institution based in Chennai. Founded in 1959, IITM was the third
establishment under the Institutes of Technology Act (1961) of Indian
Government. The institute has been rated the top engineering institute by
the National Institutional Ranking Framework for four consecutive years - 2016,
2017, 2018 and 2019.
IITM
has 16 academic departments and numerous research centres that offer
postgraduate and undergraduate programmes in distinct disciplines of engineering,
technology and pure sciences.
IIT

1250 administrative & supporting staff and is a self-contained campus

IIT
Bombay, established in 1958, has emerged as a leading Institute in India. It is
globally recognized for its quality education and strong research programs.
Admissions are made through national competitive entrance examinations,

INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (KHARAGPUR) was
the first-ever IIT to be established and is recognized as an institute of
national importance. It has been ranked 4th in
the Engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019, making it one of the leading
engineering colleges across India. The college has a sizeable faculty of over
780 members including a majority of highly qualified and experienced Ph.D
holders and currently has a strength of 8,979 students, as of 2019. IIT Kharagpur offers
undergraduate, postgraduate, dual degree and doctoral programs in several
specializations.
The
institute offers B.Tech, B.Arch., Integrated, LLB, LLM, M.Tech., MCP, M.Sc.,
MBA, EMBA, MMST, and Ph.D. program to the aspirants. Admissions are
based on the marks secured by the students in the respective national level
entrance examinations including JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, GATE, JAM, CAT etc.
Last year, the opening and closing cutoff for admission to B.Tech in
Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur was 204-283
and 520-980 for male and female candidates respectively. The
college offers several facilities including sports, extracurriculars,
accommodation, central library etc. IIT Kharagpur also has a great
placement record with the first day of the recent placement season of
2019-2020 bringing in over 460 offers from about 30 companies, including many pre-placement offers.
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
(KANPUR) is ranked 5th nationally
in Engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019 and is one of the leading
Engineering colleges in India. Currently, there are 5,261 students enrolled in
undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including 555 female students. IIT
Kanpur features a strong faculty of over 430 Ph.D holding members and a student
to teacher ratio of 15.96.
The institute offers several specializations into
undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated and research programs in the field of
Engineering, Science, Management, and Design. IIT Kanpur Admissions to
B.Tech, B.S, M.Sc, M.Tech./ MS and M.Des are offered through JEE, JAM. GATE and CEED scores respectively. The college

every academic year. In 2019, the median annual package reached INR 15 LPA with

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
(ROORKE) has been ranked 3rd amongst IITs in Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2019. The
Institute offers undergraduate in 10 disciplines and postgraduate degrees in 55
disciplines. The institute also offers doctoral programs in management,
science, engineering, and architecture streams.
Currently, 966 students are
studying under UG programs, 1034 students in PG programs and 1443 scholars in
Ph.D. programs. IITs are known to have a highly competitive examination,
popularly known as IIT-JEE to enroll students in its academic programs.
However, IIT Roorkee accepts a score of GATE, IIT JAM, and NATA as well.
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is a public technical and research university established by the Government of India, located in Guwahati, in the state of Assam in India. It is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established in India.
The history of IIT Guwahati traces its roots to the 1985 Assam Record signed between the All Asaam Student Union and the Govt Of India, which mentions the general improvement in education facilities in Assam and specifically the setting up of an IIT.
IIT Guwahati was established in 1994 by an act of parliament and its academic programme commenced in 1995. IIT Guwahati admitted its first batch of students into its Bachelor of Technology programme in 1995. The selection process was the same as that of the other IITs, i.e., through the JEE In 1998, the first batch of students were accepted into the Master of Technology program through the GATE.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY was established
in the year 1964 as a joint and co-operative venture of the Government of
India and the Government of Tamil Nadu. The institute is formerly known as
Regional Engineering College. National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli
is also known as NIT Tiruchirappalli, NIT Trichy and NITT Tiruchirappalli. The
Government of India has recognised NITT as the Institute of National Importance
(INI). NITT Tiruchirappalli is approved by All India Council for

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
(WARANGALL) is ranked 26th in
the Engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019. The college was previously
known as the Regional College of Engineering. The college’s foundation
stone was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, being the first in the chain of 30
NITs (formerly known as the RECs). The current strength of the institute is
5010 including male and female students. The faculty consists of 302 members
with most of them holding Ph.Ds from national and international universities in
their respective fields. The institute conducts various programs including
undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses.
Admissions to the B.Tech, M.Tech,
Ph.D programs are granted through national level entrance exams such as JEE, GATE,
and JAM. Last year, the opening and closing ranks for B.Tech in Computer
Science and Engineering were 978-2341 for home state applicants
and 826-1554 for applicants from other states.
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar was started as a Regional Engineering College (REC) in 1967. The College started its academic programme with affiliation from Guwahati University. In 2002, it was included in the list of NITs under the National Institute of Technology Act 2007 and was also declared as an Institute of National Importance.
NIT Silchar offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering, science, humanities and 11 other departments. Admission to various courses of the institute is based on the national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE, CAT and NET.
The college currently has a student strength of 3,001 including male and female students, as well as a highly qualified faculty of 209 members with a majority of Ph.D holders.
The National Institute of Technology
Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, was founded in 1960. It is counted amongst India's
oldest technical institutions. It was formerly called Karnataka Regional
Engineering College (KREC). This public deemed university is situated in
Mangalore and is one of India's 31 NITs.
The
Indian government has recognized it as an Institute of National Importance. The
premier engineering institution offers numerous PG and UG programmes in the
fields of science, engineering, and management. It consists of 11 support
centres and 14 academic departments. NITK Surathkal was ranked 6th amongst the
country's top engineering colleges by Outlook India, 16th by India Today and
14th by The Week.
Delhi College of Engineering, (initially established with the
name – Delhi Polytechnic) came into existence in the year 1941 to
cater the needs of Indian industries for trained technical manpower with
practical experience and sound theoretical knowledge. The institution was set
up at historic Kashmere Gate campus as a follow up of the Wood and Abott
Committee of 1938. It comprised of a multi disciplinary and multi level
institution offering wide ranging programmes in engineering, technology, arts
and sculpture, architecture, pharmacy and commerce. The national diploma
awarded by the institution was recognized as equivalent to degree level for the
purposes of employment.

CPE College of Engineering

Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Established in
1854, it is one of the oldest engineering colleges in Asia, after College of Engineering,is an Autonomous Institute

MNNIT Allahabad was founded in the year 1961 .
In India, there are seventeen regional colleges of engineering and this
educational institution is as one of them. In 2002, the institute was declared
as 'National Institute of Technology' and Deemed University. It is completely
financially aided by the Government of India and on the occasion of
Independence Day in 2007, it was declared as an institution of national
importance.
It
offers undergraduate programmes in engineering, postgraduate programmes in
engineering, computer application, business administration, mathematics,
scientific computing, social work and PhD programmes. It also provides
part-time MTech courses. It also offers several short-term training programmes.
